The Paintball Guns; by Jenny

April 8, 2008

Over the Christmas break my family and I went to North Carolina to see our cousins. Our uncle Joe and aunt Sarcanda and their two kids live their and our uncle Jim aunt Mindy and their 3 kids live there. So my family and uncle Johns family went to visit. My family stayed at uncle Joe’s and aunt Sarcanda’s house. One day while we were there we went to uncle Jim’s and aunt Mindy’s house. We were bored so we all decided to go bowling. Eddie and his mom had to stay home because Eddie was sick with pink eye.

After bowling we went out to dinner. Aunt Mindy and uncle Jim live 15 minutes from the place we ate and uncle Joe live about 1 hour from where we ate. Then we separated and went on are way home to aunt Sarcanda’s and uncle Joe’s house and they went to theirs. On the way home we got a call after a few minutes my mom said OK well be right over. She said that uncle John’s and Jimmy’s paintball guns were stolen. When we got there we thought they might have missed placed them but when we got there aunt Mindy asked where they put them and they both said on the hood of the car in the garage. My dad went out just to make sure they didn’t fall on the ground or anywhere else in the garage but they weren’t there. Who could have took them.

Eddie said that the kid down the street came and asked if Jimmy could play twice within a half hour and he had a backpack on. Then we started thinking. He probably came to ask if Jimmy could play and saw the paintball guns put one in his backpack went home empty his backpack came back and took the other one.

So uncle Jim and Jimmy went to the kids house. The kids grandpa answered the door. In the background the kid said hey Jimmy I went to your house to see if you could play but you weren’t there. Uncle Jim asked about the paintball guns. Their grandpa said he didn’t know anything about them and they didn’t take them. When they got back they decided to call the cops because they just got them for Christmas and they cost a lot of money. The cop came about 15 minutes later.

Johny, Jimmy, Jackie, Nick, Michael, Brittney, Christina, Eddie, and I were all watching out the window of Jimmy’s room. Uncle Jim was outside telling the cop what happened and everything. Jimmy was hoping that the kid didn’t take them because he was friends with him. He was also hoping that if he did take them he would give them back and apologize.

Then the cop and uncle Jim went out of the driveway into the darkness of the sky. Still watching out the window we wondered when they would get back. Then they appeared again at the bottom of the driveway. My dad said they probably hid them in the woods or something. Uncle Jim said the cop could leave. The house was crazy everyone talking at once all you could hear was yelling. Mom said it was getting late so we had to go. The car ride home that’s all we talked about. We wondered if that kid took them. I thought he did

In the morning I awoke to the phone ringing. The first thought that came to my mind was is it aunt Mindy did they get them back or were they just in the garage the hole time and they found them. It was aunt Mindy and they got the paintball guns back and it was the kid we thought had took them. Uncle John and Jimmy were so happy they got them back. Especially because they had just gotten them for Christmas and because Uncle John, aunt Barbra, Johny, Michael, and Christina were going home the next day. We were all so glad they got the paintball guns back. Our trip their was fun but this part of the trip was the best.
